Privacy Policy

AccuQuote ("we", "our", "us") is a quoting application for UK trade professionals. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data we collect

Account information — your email address, and a securely hashed password, or the identifier provided by Google or Apple if you sign in that way.
Job data — room dimensions and scan data captured by your device's camera/LiDAR sensor, job descriptions (typed or dictated — voice is transcribed on-device before sending), your business profile answers (day rate, preferred suppliers, trade type), materials lists, quotes, and any customer contact details you enter.
Device data — camera and microphone access, used only while actively scanning or dictating. We do not record or store raw audio or video.
Location — requested only while the app is in use, only if you use the supplier-lookup feature, to suggest your nearest trade supplier branch.

We do not use advertising or analytics tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. How we use your data

To generate quote line items and pricing using AI — your job description and relevant profile details are sent via our server to Anthropic's Claude API (see section 4).
To store your jobs and quotes so your quote history is available to you across sessions.
To process subscription purchases via Apple's StoreKit.
To process deposit payments you request from your own customers, via Stripe, if you use that feature.

3. Data storage

Scan files, floor plans, and 3D model thumbnails are stored locally on your device. Account, job, and quote data is sent to and stored on our application server (hosted on Render) so it's available to you across sessions. We do not sell your data.

4. Third-party services

Firebase (Google) — handles sign-in and account security. Processes your email address and authentication tokens.
Anthropic (Claude AI) — job descriptions and quoting-relevant profile details are sent to generate your quote's line items. Anthropic's privacy policy applies. This data is not used to train Anthropic's models.
Apple (StoreKit, Sign in with Apple) — processes purchase confirmation and, if used, your Apple sign-in identifier. We never receive your payment card details.
Stripe — if you use the deposit-request feature, Stripe processes that payment. Stripe's privacy policy applies — we only receive confirmation that a payment link was created and its status.

5. Camera and microphone

The app uses your device's camera and LiDAR sensor to measure room dimensions, and your microphone to transcribe spoken job descriptions on-device before sending the resulting text. We do not record, store, or transmit raw audio or video.

7. Data retention

We retain job and quote data for as long as your account is active. Scan files stored on your device can be automatically or manually removed after 90 days using a setting in the app, while your dimension and quote records are kept. Deleting your account permanently removes your login credentials from our authentication system immediately.

8. Children

AccuQuote is intended for professional tradespeople (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
